Orlando Fringe remains a truly unjuried Fringe Festival via a lottery system.
In order to apply for Orlando Fringe 2019, your application for the Fringe Lottery must be submitted no later than Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 5:00 PM EST.
The lottery is scheduled for Monday, December 3rd, 2018 at 6 PM. It is open to the public at the Orlando Fringe Office and results will stream in real time on our social media channels.
Fringe staff will make every effort to accommodate as many groups as possible into the Festival. If you are matched with a venue, you will receive an offer from Orlando Fringe. The remaining fees (venue & length costs) are due within 72 hours after the offer is made.
Be aware of the deadlines; they are absolute; all deadlines are receipt deadlines.
You are applying to be a part of the 2019 Fringe and are choosing your VENUE TIER. Tiers are based on seating capacity of the venues. ALL applicants will be entered into a TIER lottery, with adherence to the following geographically tiered quotas:
Orlando Fringe is dedicated to inclusion and diversity. To help give voice to underserved communities, we offer Artists an opportunity to enter our Diversity Lottery, which occurs before the regular lottery and guarantees 3 spots to producing Artists that qualify. To qualify, the project must be PRODUCED and CREATED by individuals who are among the groups listed below, and whose shows deal with relevant topics. Having cast members of diverse backgrounds is wonderful, but does not qualify you to enter the Diversity Lottery. If you are entered into the Diversity Lottery and not selected, you will be returned to the regular lottery for your desired Tier.
The final deadline for all applications is 5:00 PM EST on Thursday, November 15, 2018, to be considered for the lottery. You must press the SUBMIT button BEFORE 5:00 PM EST. If your application is still being worked on at 5:00 PM EST it is not on time and will not be placed in the lottery. This is absolute. Any application received after that will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist. Confirmations of application receipt are sent via e-mail notification from the Orlando Fringe office. YOU MAY ONLY APPLY AS A PRODUCER OR PRODUCING COMPANY FOR ONE SHOW. i.e., you may only submit ONE show; you cannot produce a show under your name and another under your company name. Each application must have a different Company Name and the main point of contact to be considered. Artists are permitted to participate in multiple projects, but schedule accommodations are not guaranteed.
Your non-refundable application fee is due upon submission of your application. You will be ineligible for the lottery without this payment. It is not refundable under any circumstances. At the end of this application, you will pay your application fee.
Total due will include the cost of your tier/#seats, number of performances, and performance length (if more than 60 minutes). If you do not pay the remaining balance within 72 hours of venue placement, you will automatically forfeit your space in the 2019 Festival. You will be responsible for getting the payment to us in time. Fringe accepts the following payment methods:
You are responsible for any fees associated with your payment; Orlando Fringe will NOT reimburse you for any fees your credit card or bank charges you. Additionally, international artists are responsible for any additional fees incurred because of exchange rates. Checks/credit cards will be submitted upon receipt; a $30 fee is assessed for all returned checks. Please contact [email protected] for transaction receipts.
If you are chosen in the lottery and need to withdraw before January 1st, 2019, you will receive 100% of your production fees back. A partial refund, minus a $200 administrative penalty, will be available to all groups who withdraw between January 1st and February 1st, 2019. NO REFUNDS will be issued if you need to withdraw after February 1st unless it is due to death, health, or visa/customs issues, and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. – Any refunds will be issued via check, regardless of payment type, and can take up to 10 business days to process.
Applicants in the lottery are first drawn in association with their geographical area for each Tier. Where you are selected in the lottery, along with your venue preference, runtime, technical requirements, and venue restrictions will all be factored into your venue placement. If you do not wish to be placed in a specific venue, then you may state that on your application, and you will not be considered for that venue. Be aware that if you are drawn late in the tier lottery, this could push you to the waitlist.

We maintain a waitlist to fill empty slots. The waitlist order is determined by order drawn in the original lottery; number/ranking on the waitlist is assigned in the order placed on the waitlist. You may withdraw from the waitlist at any time – you will not be refunded your application fee. Groups may NOT increase their show length/running times.
