VISUAL FRINGE

Are you feeling Fringy? Creative? Experimental, but prefer not to perform in front of people? Then you're the perfect fit for this annual art exhibition, the Visual Fringe!

Visual Fringe is the art component of the Fringe Festival. During the festival, the walls of the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre and the Patrons' room are filled with visual art, featuring both emerging artists and well-known, established artists, mainly from Central Florida. Like the theatre portion of the festival, Visual Fringe is uncensored and unjuried and 100% of the money made in art sales is given back to the artists.

Anything you see hanging on the walls or placed somewhere in the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre - be it paintings, drawings, photographs, or sculptures - is part of Visual Fringe. Last year was a record-breaking year for Visual Fringe: Not only did more artists than in previous years participate, more artwork was sold than ever before!

Artists are encouraged to create art that is experimental, unique, beautiful and fringy; something that pushes their limits as artists, such as trying a new medium, subject or motivating factor. Artists submit one or two original works of art in person with the application and fee on the dates specified at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, located at 812 E Rollins Street in Orlando. More thorough information is on the 2010 Artist Application can be found at the Orlando Fringe website at: http://orlandofringe.org/visual

Or, if you're an old hand at the Visual Fringe and just want to submit, the application can be found by Clicking Here (There are some new things on the application this year, so please read it thoroughly and carefully before filling it out and signing it.)
