This year as part of the Free Outdoor Stage lineup, The Swamp Sistas are taking over the stage for one day to put on a “La La”.
A “La La” is a Creole tradition where musicians gather, friends dance, and everybody gives what they can to support a common cause. On Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 3 to 11 p.m., the La La will be on the Green Lawn of Fabulousness at the Fringe.
The common goal is a desire to fight local hunger with good, nutritious food. Those who attend the party will have the opportunity to learn about and contribute to Central Florida food security organizations: Second Harvest Food Bank, P.E.A.S. Foundation, Hebni Nutrition Consultants, and The Fresh Stop Bus.
The Swamp Sistas are a grassroots community of 2,500 that singer/songwriter, Beth McKee conceived as a way to connect the diverse women she met while touring the southeastern United States.
