The Parliament House (MAP, Directions from Loch Haven Park) One of Orlando's oldest and biggest alternative (geeee!) bars, the Parliament House is a great place to dance, drink and see drag. They have a theatre space (The Footlight Theatre) where many local Orlando Fringe shows transfer after a successful Orlando Fringe Festival run. A newly christened cabaret room hosts local singers as well. The Orlando Fringe loves the Parliament House not only because of their generous sponsorship, not only for their providing us space for special events, but also for being a majah part of the downtown theatre scene the rest of the year when Fringe is not going on. 6410 N. The List: Orlando, Florida
The List is a great source for out-of-towners to find out the locals-preferred places to eat, drink and hang out. Through a combined effort of Elizabeth Maupin and OrlandoArtsBlog.com, members of the Orlando Theatre community were asked via an online video to list their favorite local places they'd recommend to out-of-towners. Their responses, left as blog comments on Elizabeth's blog, make up the content of the list.
