Carla Hicks - Box Office Manager

Carla Hicks PicCarla Hicks' longtime love of theater began in 1982 when she visited NYC for the first time, and was able to see "Chorus Line" at the Shubert Theater. Upon returning home, she enrolled in theater class at L-SCC, and spent many happy years on stage.

Carla had attended nearly every Fringe Festival by the time it suddenly occurred to her in 2003 that nearly everyone involved in Fringe was a volunteer. She made a vow that she would take the week off for Fringe in 2004, and volunteer. Sadly, it slipped her mind until she saw in the paper that Fringe 2004 was about to begin. She promptly wrote the dates for Fringe 2005 on her calendar, and fulfilled her vow. Carla signed up for almost every volunteer duty that year except Cashier and Venue Captain...then ended up cashiering for nearly the entire festival (except for the two times she was Venue Captain). She was thrilled to win the "Stand Up Volunteer" award that year, and in 2006 she was "promoted" to Box Office Assistant Manager. Expertly trained by Cid Stoll and Mike Garvey (both of whom she loves dearly), Carla was asked to return to the next year's Fringe as Box Office Manager, and was honored to do so.

In "real life", Carla works at a preschool, and spends time with her friends, family, and her soulmate, Rob.

Julie Milford - Fringe Photographer

Julie Milford Picmyspace.com/milfordphotography
I've been doing photography for about 15 years. Shot some celebrities and had a lot of high end clients. Got some GREAT STORIES! Whew! If you know me I'm sure you've heard a few! Anyways, had a studio and custom lab for about 10 of those years, then retired from photography around 2002, basically due to that fact that I was BURNT OUT! Traditional went digital (quick), and I went for weeks without seeing day light! True story! The commercial side of the business took it's toll on me and I stopped enjoying it for awhile. Last year I decided to come out of retirement and continue to do what I have always loved to do - Take pictures! Not just a picture, but to create, inspire, and capture a single moment in time! There's nothing like it! With each experience I grow more and more and look forward to the next. I'm a demanding and intense photographer. My subject and I have to be completely in sync and in order to do that it is up to me to get you to a place (where I live) that we can truly let ourselves and any inhibitions go and really start to become one with each other and focused and excited about what we are trying to accomplish! I am currently freelancing. The majority of the photography that I do right now is promotional, commercial, or fashion. I also work full time for a commercial development firm, and run Phish Phest Entertainment along with my other 3 partners.

She was exposed to the festival for the first time last year as a volunteer and after that awesome experience wanted to become more involved in the behind the scenes of Fringe. Kursten grew up in a teeny tiny town in Northeast Ohio and she currently attends Full Sail University here in Orlando. Kursten is honored to have the title as the 1st Full Sail intern to The Orlando Fringe. Kursten, has an associate degree in Show Production and is finishing her bachelor degree in Music Business. Eventually, Kursten wants to be an event coordinator for large scale music and art festivals, so what better way to get her feet wet than hang out with and learn from Beth and the crew! In her free time, she enjoys going to live shows around town, learning to cook, and spending time with her boyfriend Chaz and their fabulous feline, Isis.

Yolanda Baruch: Trash Manager

Photo MissingOrphaned at the tender age of 5, Yolanda, was brought by the sweet winds of the West Indies to be raised by Tibetan monks were she was enlightened that she was the reincarnated spirit of Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator, Ashanti Queen Ya Asantewa, Indian Painter Raja Ravi Varma, and writer Lydia Maria Child. After many sessions of mediation, Yolanda realized that her own hubris had contributed to her many prodigious accomplishments, however, in this present life she is determined to seek a more humble station in life in order to realized the true meaning of her existence as well as use the experience and her wages to pay off an ever increasing credit card bill. Joining the Fringe Festival for the second year, she hopes to be a promoted to cleaning lettuce, making burgers, serving beer in the beer tent, and then finally manager of the festival. Ah, yes, girly has lofty goals.
