10am to 2pm – May 16/17 | May 23/24 | 2015
Kids Fringe is a special part of the Orlando Fringe Festival just for kids and families. Located in the beautiful sculpture gardens of The Mennello Museum of American Art, Kids Fringe offers performances by Fringe artists and local arts organizations, workshops and hands-on-art activities. Kids Fringe is free to all participants and runs 10am–2pm both weekends of the festival.
Kids Fringers can watch kid-friendly theater, music, magic and dance performances on Fringezilla’s Main Stage, take creative movement and drum classes under the Mayor Tree, stroll with puppets and crazy characters, play dress-up with theatrical costumes, and much more! All this fun is free to visitors, thanks to sponsors The City of Orlando Mayor’s Matching Grant and The Mennello Museum of American Art.
Kids Fringe will present special performances by Fringe artists with performers coming from as far away as Japan and Canada. Look for IBEX Puppetry, Voci Dance, Orlando Ballet, Mad Science, 3rd Wheel Educational Drumming, Crealde School of Art, and Boardwalk Kids as well as musicians The Outertoons, Mr. Harley, and Davey Rocker & the Barnyard Jam. Special activities include bug races, bike decorating, duct tape art, waltzing lessons with Phantasmagoria and special appearances by Fringezilla the Fringe mascot.
Daily Themes: May 16th – Carnival, May 17th – Rainbow Bright, May 23rd – Come Join the Parade!, May 24th – Puppet Party!
