FREE PROMOTION

WEBSITE ADS
Artists may purchase website ads on the festival pages of our website. The ads on the page will be poster images that are clickable. The ads will randomly rotate automatically on the page. There will be multiple rotating ad locations on the pages. Ads will be 260x400px. Since the posters are rotated randomly, artists may purchase multiple ads to increase the odds of their ad being shown.
On the other pages, adds will be rotating randomly between sections. These ads are clickable. The ads will be horizontal ads that span the length of the page. The ads are 1200x150px. Since the posters are rotated randomly, artists may purchase multiple ads to increase the odds of their ad being shown.
Ads are $99 and give you BOTH placements for the price of one.
SOCIAL MEDIA ADS
Artists may purchase an ad to be placed on either Facebook or Instagram. The posts will have a small bar at the base stating the post is “Promotion Paid for by the Artist.” The post will also lead with the word “Artist Promotion:” to make sure it is clear this post is a paid promotion from the artist. Facebook posts will have a link to the artist ticketing page on the website. Instagram will have no specific link other than orlandofringe.org
NEWSLETTER ADS
Artists may purchase an ad to be placed inside one of the festival newsletters. The ad will show the submitted show image, the show description, and the link to the ticketing page for the show. Show images and video loops can be put together rather simply using canva.com It is recommended for simple image creation that will make your show look great if you can’t hire a graphic designer.
Need more help? Fringe offers a number of other services to assist you:
- Artwork – We can create a postcard and poster designs for your performance! Contact the Marketing Director to get started.
Rates are as follows:
$125 for show artwork and poster design.
$165 for show artwork, poster design, and video loop creation.

All promotion of your production must include the Orlando Fringe logo! For your ease, we’ve posted the logo below in a number of formats and color combinations to match any design you create for your production. Please do not change the logo in any way without approval from the Marketing Director.
Adobe Illustrator Vector Files
Greyscale Vector Festival Logo
PNG Image Files
Color Festival on White Background
To make sure you are using our logo properly, please take moment to read through our simple to understand, Brand Style Guide Please make special note of the treatment of our logo, including placement and clear space.
While these files may be “editable”, you may not change the image in any way without prior permission from the Marketing Director.
Changing our logo in any way that is not approved will result in disciplinary action which may include the removing of posters and any other promotional materials. Our logo is very important to us and we are protecting it in order to protect our brand.
This statement pertains to the general use of our logo. The right of use still pertains even if you acquire our logo from any other source.
There should be only one Fringe logo that you are using for your promotion and that is the logo that says Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival.
Marketing Budget
Marketing budgets will vary based on the size of the venue and the number of tickets you need to sell to fill it. We do not recommend spending $2000 if your show is in a 50 seat venue, nor spending $50 on your show in a 320 seat venue. Experience has shown that $500 is usually a healthy budget for marketing and advertising which should be sufficient for hiring a graphic designer to create your images and materials, printing, and purchasing at least one ad.
Sponsorship and Advertising
Just a few tips from the Fringe Veterans to help you make the most of your money:
You may want to seek sponsorships, advertisers in your show (maybe have a sign on the stage before the show that has the logo of the sponsor since you won’t be having a program), and raise money through crowdfunding (Kickstarter, Indiegogo, etc.) to cover some of your initial costs.
The best approach to getting sponsorship is to start small and local. Businesses in your community are more likely to take an interest in your project than a larger, anonymous corporation. Use existing relationships to establish a conversation – do you know someone who owns a business? Do you frequent particular places? Remember that you need to present your potential sponsor with a benefit. Will they invest in your show and you advertise them while your house is loading in? Could you come and do a workshop for employees? And think creatively about what you can get out of a sponsor. In-kind sponsorship can potentially be more valuable to you, and an easier thing for a sponsor to give. Advertising is also a mutually beneficial arrangement. If you have a poster, social media, or website, you can include ads or logos from people who pay a set price for that exposure.
Sure you can show a picture and description of your performance on posters or flyers, but can you really capture that dance or the physicality of that monologue in a picture?
With dedicated televisions at the main Box Office in both the Orlando Shakespeare Center and the Orlando REP, your 30-second spot is sure to be seen! The fee is $50 for one 30 second spot, $85 for two and $99 for three.
Preferred format MP4

While you are welcome to use any printer you like for posters, a question we’re asked every year is for recommendations of printers. We use and recommend Minute Man Press as they print the majority of Fringe materials. You can contact them at mmpArtwork@sandlakeminutemanpress.com just make sure to mention that you are an Orlando Fringe artist.
Important: Remember that the Fringe Logo must be on all flyers, posters, and advertisements!
A few rules about marketing materials:
- All marketing must be self-produced and adhere to all legalities
- No nudity is allowed in marketing materials
- Never leave items in the bathrooms of either venue, including in the men’s urinals, hanging on the wall, mirrors, or sink area
Best Practices in Printing
The following are recommendations for printing, but obviously do what feels right to you:
- 50 Posters (11 X 17) for local artists or 10 for out of town artists – Distributing posters to local businesses is a great way to try get Fringers and non-Fringers alike to attend. Either way you will want at least 3 to be hung around Fringe.

Looking to photograph your show at this year’s festival? You’ve got a couple options. You can hire your own photographer or you can book one of our Fringe photographers.
USING YOUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHER:
Artists are welcome to hire their own photographers/videographers, etc. It is requested that artists inform Orlando Fringe by using the form below if they are having someone other than a Fringe photographer shoot their show. The non-Fringe photographers are responsible for their own parking, etc. and are subject to the rules that apply to patrons (no late entry, etc.)
We do not allow photography in any of the venues and we will ask a photographer to leave if seen taking photos. Please let us know if you plan on bringing a photographer to your show by completing this form.
USING A FRINGE PHOTOGRAPHER:
We have expanded our photography services this year so that more artists can take advantage and have lasting memories of their show as well as great promotional photos for the future.
Brian Harris is our Lead Photographer and she is working with multiple photographers to schedule photographic coverage of as many shows as possible this year.
Here is how it works: Complete the information on this form and Brian will arrange for a photographer to shoot your show.
PRICING:
Single performer: $125
2-5 performers: $175
6 or more performers: $225
Payment is due at the time of the shooting and is arranged between the individual photographer and the artist. Photographers usually accept cash, check or cards but it varies by the photographer.
AVAILABILITY:
Photography services are available on a first come, first serve basis so sign up now using this form Photographers cannot guarantee that they are available for a specific date to shoot your performance. The scheduled date will be provided to the artist in advance prior to the shoot.
DELIVERY:
Shortly after the performance, the photographer will send the artist 5-10 images that will have the Orlando Fringe watermark on them.
The watermark is not to be cropped out or altered during the festival.
2-3 weeks after the close of the festival, the artists will get the full shoot once it is edited. These images will not be watermarked and may be used in whatever marketing they want. Credit for the photographer is still required where possible (online, etc) The images are typically sent via Dropbox, google drive, etc. or through the photo service that a Photographer might use.
POSTERS
You will find the 2021 Orlando Fringe Festival logo by clicking “fringe logos” on the menu. The logo MUST be present on all flyers, posters and any other printed advertisements. It doesn’t need to be on any other materials associated with your show like video loops or online ads but it wouldn’t hurt.
If you are listing the location of your performance. Please note the name of Orlando Shakes should be listed as The Lowndes Shakespeare Center. No exceptions. The staff of Orlando Shakes will not accept any posters hung with the incorrect location name.
HANGING POSTERS DO’S AND DON’TS
Each show should plan to have ten posters no larger than 11″ x 17″ to be displayed on a first come/ space available basis at:
- One poster on the Venue Board in front of their venue (may be displayed starting on the day of your Tech Rehearsal)
- One poster on the Poster Wall near the Box Office in the Shakes (you can start dropping these off at the Orlando Fringe offices starting at 10:00AM on Saturday, May 15th)
- One laminated poster on the Poster Wall near the Beer Tent (may be displayed starting after the A-frame set up at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 19th)
- Up to seven laminated posters on the fencing surrounding the lawn (may be displayed starting at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 19th)
Artists are responsible for supplying the materials to hang their posters.
Staple guns, thumbtacks, or clear packing tape work well on the Poster Walls and Venue Boards and zip ties through holes punched in the posters have worked well on the fencing.
Outside of your assigned venue, there is a board where you are allowed to hang ONE poster for your show. In the lower lobby of the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, there is the main poster board, where you are allowed to hang up one poster. Please DO NOT hang more than one or they will be taken down, and please wait until your tech rehearsal, there is room for all of them. . Also, be respectful of other artists. Poster hanging is first come. Do not move other artist’s posters or hang over them. Keep to the allotted size (NO LARGER THAN ll” x 17”) Lastly, Orlando Fringe is renting Orlando SHAKES, Orlando REP, The Orlando Museum of Art, and Loch Haven Park, which are all city-owned. Do not hang posters in bathrooms, on the walls, or at the box office.
You may place posters on the fence around the green lawn area. You may also have one sandwich board on the sidewalks leading into the Lowndes Shakespeare Center.
Fines may result if you do not adhere to these policies. ABSOLUTELY NO STAKES, POSTERS, FLIERS OR ANY SHOW PROMOTIONS IN THE PUBLIC WALKWAYS. You may place things INSIDE the fenced area only. We encourage you to hang your posters at local area businesses (and remember, you must have the official Fringe logo on all posters).
SANDWICH BOARD/ A-FRAME
A single “sandwich board” (capable of surviving the weather) will be permitted on the walkway to the Shakes Complex on a first come/ space available basis beginning at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 19th. If a display becomes damaged by weather or otherwise becomes a safety concern it will be removed by Fringe Staff. Please bring sandbags or weights to secure your A-frame.
FLIERS
No fliers, postcards, printed programs are permitted this year, and will be removed if found.
TO SIMPLIFY
Print 7 laminated posters– no larger than 11×17 (they can be horizontal or vertical, but vertical is preferred for hanging on the poster walls)
No postcards, fliers, or printed programs
